As a Senior Engineer on Front End you will…
Be the 6th engineer on this team. You will have a large, immediate impact on the shape and direction of Front End.
Have the opportunity to work with one of the founding members of our engineering team. The stories he can tell!
Solve extremely interesting challenges, architect the front end to meet product and customer needs, and work with design to create fantastic user experiences.
Front End will shape how customers interact with the platform. It is really where everything begins from the customer standpoint.
Within one month, you will...
Learn about our mission, our product, our value proposition, our customers, our team and our processes.
Virtually meet each person on your team for a casual introductory call.
Meet with your supervisor to discuss departmental KPIs
Set up your environment and all core dependencies
Get up to speed on backlog refinement, sprint retrospectives and planning
Join team calls and become familiar with the Capacity cadences and communication
Be celebrated for having a few production deploys under your belt!
Within three months, you will...
Continue to gain experience and comfort with our deployment processes and staging environment
Develop new features in the Capacity platform that customers will use every day.
Within six months, you will
Have a unique perspective to contribute on how the Front End team and Capacity as a whole may improve technical and/or business processes
You are a seasoned software engineer with the proven ability to build software solutions at scale and navigate the complexities and challenges of developing new products and features. You thrive in a fast paced, challenging environment and strive to understand how all of the unique engineering components work together to meet our customer needs. You love learning new things and enjoy working on a tight-knit team.
You are proficient in React and Redux, JSX and SASS (or other CSS preprocessors).
You are passionate about building highly reliable, secure, maintainable and scalable systems.
You are willing to constantly deploy and iterate on your solutions.
You look forward to brainstorming sessions, post-mortems and feedback sessions with multi-disciplinary teams.
Minimum 5 years of front-end engineering industry experience.
Expertise with semantic HTML.
Mastery in creating responsive layouts using CSS.
Intimate knowledge of web browsers, page performance, and the DOM.
Experience building UIs conforming to web accessibility guidelines (e.g. WCAG)
Experience with version control (e.g Git).
Extensive use of APIs and understanding of HTTP and REST architecture.
Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing on the front end using Jest.
Bonus if you have:
Knowledgeable with other technologies like Node.js, TypeScript, or Python
Experience working with GraphQL
Exposure to AWS and Kubernetes.
Experience working with a Machine Learning/AI SaaS application.
Experience building SSR pages using Next.js
